Da Wafulls – FAQ & Cooking Guide
Da Wafulls is a premium gluten-free waffle and pancake mix made with clean, simple ingredients. Because we use almond flour (not wheat flour), Da Wafulls cooks and behaves differently than traditional mixes. Use the guide below for best results.
What is Da Wafulls?
Da Wafulls is a gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free waffle and pancake mix made with only seven whole ingredients. Our main ingredient is almond flour, and we sweeten lightly with organic coconut sugar. No fillers. No artificial ingredients.
Is Da Wafulls gluten-free?
Yes. Da Wafulls is 100% gluten-free, grain-free, and dairy-free.
What are the main ingredients?
Da Wafulls is made with seven whole ingredients, four of which are organic. The primary ingredient is almond flour, providing natural protein and healthy fats without refined grains or sugars.
How much protein does Da Wafulls have?
Each serving contains 5 grams of naturally occurring protein from almond flour. No protein powders or isolates are added.
Can I add eggs for more protein?
Yes—and we highly recommend it.
Adding eggs:
• Increases protein
• Improves structure and texture
• Helps waffles crisp better
• Makes them more filling for kids and athletes
How to add eggs:
• Add 1–2 large eggs per batch
• Mix eggs into the dry mix first
• Add liquid slowly after eggs are mixed
Important:
Eggs add moisture. When adding eggs, reduce your liquid slightly and add slowly. The batter should be thick but pourable.
What liquid should I use?
As the owner, I personally use unsweetened almond milk.
You can also use:
• Almond milk
• Coconut milk
• Other dairy-free milks
• Water (use less than you think)
Why does my batter sometimes feel runny?
Almond flour absorbs liquid differently than wheat flour.
Common causes:
• Too much liquid
• Using water without reducing the amount
• Adding bananas or fruit
If adding bananas:
Bananas add moisture. Reduce liquid by at least ¼ cup and expect a softer batter.
What should the batter consistency be?
The batter should be:
• Thicker than traditional waffle batter
• Smooth
• Pourable but not watery
If it pours like milk, it is too thin. Add a small amount of mix or reduce liquid next time.
Why are my waffles soft or slightly gooey inside?
This is normal.
Almond flour does not dry out like wheat flour. If the outside is golden brown and the waffle releases cleanly, it is fully cooked—even if the inside feels softer.
What waffle maker works best?
Da Wafulls works best in a standard 4-inch waffle maker.
As the owner, I use the Dash 4-inch waffle maker, which makes four waffles at a time and cooks them evenly.
Belgian waffle makers are not recommended, as they are too thick and may not cook properly.
Can I make pancakes with Da Wafulls?
Yes.
For pancakes:
• Cook on medium heat
• Let edges set before flipping
• Cook until golden brown
Pancakes may take slightly longer than traditional mixes due to almond flour.
Can I prep Da Wafulls as frozen toaster waffles?
Yes—this is one of our favorite prep methods.
How to make frozen toaster waffles:
Cook waffles fully until golden
Let cool completely
Freeze flat in a freezer-safe bag
Reheat in toaster or toaster oven
They toast up crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Are there artificial flavors, preservatives, or fillers?
No. Da Wafulls contains no artificial flavors, preservatives, gums, or fillers.
Is Da Wafulls kid-friendly?
Yes. Families love Da Wafulls because it’s simple, clean, and easy to customize with eggs, fruit, or nut butters.

Da Wafulls is lightly sweetened, not sugary. The flavor is intentionally neutral so it can be enjoyed with both sweet and savory toppings, including fruit, maple syrup, nut butter, eggs, or avocado.
Can I make Da Wafulls crispy?
Yes.
For crispier waffles:
Add 1–2 eggs to the batter
Cook until deep golden brown
Let waffles rest for 30–60 seconds after cooking
Reheat in a toaster or toaster oven if needed
Almond flour crisps best with proper heat and time.
Do I need to oil my waffle maker or pan?
Yes. Lightly grease your cooking surface for best results.
Recommended options:
Avocado oil
Coconut oil
Light nonstick spray
This ensures easy release and even browning.
How many waffles does one bag make?
Each bag makes approximately:
8–10 standard 4-inch waffles, depending on batter thickness and add-ins such as eggs or yogurt.
Why does Da Wafulls cook differently than regular waffle mixes?
Traditional waffle mixes rely on wheat flour, starches, and gums. Da Wafulls uses almond flour, which:
Holds moisture differently
Cooks softer on the inside
Requires slightly lower heat and longer cook time
This is a result of real ingredients—not a defect.
Why did my pancakes burn?
This is one of the most common issues when making Da Wafulls as pancakes.
Almond flour is more sensitive to heat than wheat flour.
Common reasons pancakes burn:
Heat is too high
Pan is overheated
Almond flour browns faster
How to prevent burning:
Use medium to medium-low heat
Let the pan preheat, then slightly reduce heat
Lightly grease the pan with avocado or coconut oil
When to flip:
Edges should look set
Bubbles may be minimal (this is normal)
Bottom should be golden brown before flipping
Lower heat and patience produce the best pancakes.
Is Da Wafulls good for athletes or active lifestyles?
Yes. Da Wafulls is popular with youth athletes, high school athletes, and active adults because it provides natural protein, healthy fats, and steady energy without a sugar crash.
Can I eat Da Wafulls every day?
Yes. Da Wafulls is made with whole ingredients and no artificial additives, making it suitable for everyday meals when paired with balanced toppings.
Is Da Wafulls kid-friendly?
Yes. Parents love Da Wafulls because it’s simple, lightly sweetened, and easy to customize with eggs, yogurt, or fruit.
Does Da Wafulls spike blood sugar?
Da Wafulls is made without refined sugars or grains. Almond flour and coconut sugar support a more balanced blood sugar response compared to traditional mixes. Individual responses may vary.
Can I add protein powder to the batter?
Yes, but with caution.
Guidelines:
Use 1–2 tablespoons max
Add extra liquid slowly
Expect a denser texture
For best results, eggs or Greek yogurt are recommended instead of protein powder.
Can I make Da Wafulls with Greek yogurt?
Yes. Greek yogurt is a great way to add extra protein and creaminess.
How Greek yogurt affects the batter:
Adds thickness and moisture
Increases protein
Creates a more filling waffle or pancake
How to add Greek yogurt:
Add 2–4 tablespoons per batch
Mix yogurt in before adding liquid
Reduce liquid slightly to prevent runny batter
Best results:
Pair with 1–2 eggs for structure
Cook until golden brown
Expect a slightly denser, more satisfying texture
Works well for both waffles and pancakes.
Can I bake Da Wafulls instead of using a waffle maker?
Da Wafulls is designed for waffles and pancakes. Baking is not recommended, as almond flour requires direct heat for proper texture.
Is Da Wafulls paleo?
Da Wafulls aligns closely with a paleo-style approach, as it is grain-free, dairy-free, and made with whole ingredients. Always review ingredients based on individual needs.
What makes Da Wafulls different from other gluten-free mixes?
Most gluten-free mixes rely on rice flour, tapioca starch, and gums. Da Wafulls uses almond flour and minimal ingredients, creating a cleaner label and more nutrient-dense product.
Why is the texture different from restaurant waffles?
Restaurant waffles typically use refined flour, sugar, and oils. Da Wafulls prioritizes ingredient quality and nutrition, resulting in a naturally softer interior.
What toppings pair best with Da Wafulls?
Popular toppings include:
Grass-fed butter or ghee
Maple syrup or raw honey
Nut butter
Greek or dairy-free yogurt
Fresh berries or bananas
Is Da Wafulls shelf-stable?
Yes. Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal after opening.
Why is Da Wafulls priced higher than grocery-store mixes?
Da Wafulls uses almond flour, organic ingredients, and small-batch production. Higher-quality inputs cost more but deliver better nutrition and cleaner labels.
